About Me

Hi, I’m Barb 🤍

I’m the baker and cookie artist behind Sugar Dreams, a cozy home-based bakery in Walford, Iowa.

I’ve loved baking since I was a kid learning alongside my older sisters. What started as stress relief and creativity in my kitchen has grown into a welcoming space where I create custom cookies and teach cookie decorating classes.

Teaching others what I know has become one of my greatest joys. Watching confidence grow through frosting and sprinkles is something special.

Every bite is a dream.

How It Started

Baking has always felt like home to me.

I learned in the kitchen with my older sisters measuring, mixing, laughing, and sneaking little tastes when we thought no one was looking. It became my creative outlet and my calm in the chaos.

Over time, something I did simply to unwind turned into something much bigger.

Sugar Dreams was born from that love.

Why I Do This

Baking is my stress relief. But teaching? That’s where my heart truly grew.

There is something special about watching someone walk into class unsure of themselves and leave holding cookies they decorated with their own hands.

You don’t need to be artistic.
You don’t need experience.
You just need to show up.

Seeing that moment when someone realizes, “I can actually do this,” never gets old.
